Wyevale collection, Widnes

This is a return visit for us to this lovely garden centre so why not come along and join us for a couple of hours; whether you are a greyhound owner already or thinking of getting one of these lovely hounds it is great to meet up for a chat and talk greyhounds.
Wyevale Garden centre is not just all about plants and gifts, in store there is a pet section for you to spoil your pets, ‘Carols Crafts’, supplies for all your crafty projects and also a aquatics shop selling goldfish to starfish.
There is a coffee shop for you to recharge your energy with a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake. If you prefer the healthy option located next door to the garden centre is a farm shop selling local grown produce.
Come and join us for a couple of hours or a whole day we will love to have you there.

H'Ford & Worcs Dog Show

How Caple Court
Why not come along to our flagship event which is extremely popular and very well supported. Set in the beautiful grounds of How Caple Court near Ross-on-Wye, this is a day not to be missed!
There will be a fun Dog Show, Silent Auction, books, GRWE merchandise, tombola, light lunches, teas, cakes and refreshments. The classes include Best Rescues, Veterans, Most Handsome/Prettiest, Best family and many more. Entries are £2.00 per dog, per class with entries taken in the ring so there will be no need to register. Judging starts at 10.00am and rosettes are awarded to 6th place in all classes. If you would like to sponsor one of the dog show classes then please do not hesitate to contact us.
As with any big event, we need lots of help on the day to ensure the show goes smoothly and we would love to hear from you if you can help in any way. Also any items that can be donated for our Silent Auction or tombola would be very much appreciated.
Don't miss this great family day out, for dogs and humans alike!
Your dog must be on a lead at all times and please clear up after he/she if necessary.

Worcester Woods Country Park
Come and join us for a walk around these lovely country woods. We'll be meeting at the cafe 10.30 for a prompt 11.00am start. All walks are easy and take about 40 minutes. After join us outside the cafe for a bit of a 'get together' with a raffle. All dogs are welcome on the lead and this is a great opportunity for your dog to meet other hounds if they don't normally get the chance.
Very easy to find :
From Junc7 M5 follow A44 to Worcester (pick up brown and white signs after roundabout) turn right into Swinesherd Way then left onto Wildwood Drive.

Meet and Greet Walk & Auction

We are holding an auction at Mark Village Hall,Vole Road, Mark, Somerset, TA9 4NY and hope as many of you can come along and enjoy the day and bid for some great prizes.
The hall offers disabled parking and facilities and also childrens playarea. The day offers a walk locally (if you want to) as well as GRWE merchandise, refreshments and that chance to talk and meet like minded people and their hounds. Dogs are very welcome into the hall.
The auction is open to all and we have some wonderful lots to bid on. There are a wide range of items to suit every purse and you may find a gift or present at a great price, or even something for yourself.
Items to bid on are: Holiday in France (dog friendly), family day out tickets - such as Butlins Minehead, SS Gt Britain, 3 months dog food supply, dog beds, meal vouchers, perfume, gift packs and lots more.
Doors open at 10 am time for a chat, browse or go on a walk

Get involved in this fabulous greyhound and lurcher sponsored walk in the beautiful location of Delamere Forest in Cheshire! You will rarely see so many hounds gathered in one place at one time, all participating in the sponsored walk to raise some much needed funds for a great cause. All monies raised will go to GRWE, helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned and abused greyhounds and lurchers.

Come along and join our Greyhound Day made possible by the generosity and support of Pets at Home at Preston. Our gazebos will be situated outside the store on the Riversway Retail Park set alongside the beautiful River Ribble. Bring your own hound along for a family and doggy day out. You can spend time at our stand, join in the fun and games and stock up on all those essential hound goodies (both edible and not so edible!) that you know you cannot resist. Take your hound for a stroll alongside the river and enjoy all the facilities of this large retail park.
There will be a children’s lucky dip, crafts, tombola and games together with a full range of GRWE merchandise. Home made goodies will also be available for both hounds and humans and a new range of Lancashire’s very own hand knitted hound snoods will be available – plus much much more – come along on the day and see for yourself.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and advertise the joy that owning a greyhound brings. If anyone is thinking of having a greyhound as a pet come along and meet our wonderful dogs and see for yourself what a wonderful addition to your life they would be. Some of our kennel dogs will also be there looking and waiting hopefully for a home of their very own.

We will be really pleased to meet & greet you and our dogs will just love all the attention they receive!
Why not make a day of it, especially if you are travelling from a distance to visit us? There is plenty to see at Stapeley Water Gardens - you can relax, get a drink and a bite to eat in the café or browse in the lovely gift shop which also has a large pet section. You could also go a step further and explore the lovely settings of the Palms which is home to numerous exotic creatures including snakes, Meerkats, parrots and more…………..
As usual we will have a Tombola, so why not buy a ticket, try your luck and help a greyhound at the same time? As always donations for tombola prizes are most welcome, so if you have any of those unwanted gifts you don’t know what to do with, anything would be gratefully received on the day.
There is also a Gift Table with items that range from designer collars, crafted handmade greeting cards, greyhound figures to the ever popular knitted snoods that everyone is asking for (all subject to availability).
We look forward to meeting supporters and their hounds but please remember to keep your dogs on leads at all times. Please also note that, although our dogs are allowed at Stapeley on the day, you will not be able to take them inside the actual garden centre itself.

Meet, Greet & Social Walk

Town Hall, Colyton, Devon
This is an opportunity to have a lovely walk by the River Coly with like minded people and lots of greyhounds, although all breeds are very welcome.
We will be meeting at the Town Hall in Colyton at 12 noon and will then walk through the very pretty village and down along the river. The walk is circular, will take approximately one hour. It will include walking across fields as well as along country lanes so bring your wellies! After the walk we will return to the hall for tea, cake & more greyhound talk! GRWE merchandise & a tombola will be available and we will be having an offers table with some of the wonderful donated goods to help raise much needed funds.
So, if you have a hound who is in need of a social walk, or you are considering having a greyhound as a pet in the future and would like to know more about the breed, please come along, meet some of the goregous boys and girls that have already found their forever homes in and around Devon and help us to raise awareness.
We are asking for a £3 donation per adult & £1 per child (under 16). Tea, coffee, squash, cake & biscuits for the humans, and gravy bones for the dogs all included!

Autumn Walk

Stover Country Park
Join us for a beautiful Autumn walk at Stover Country Park, Newton Abbot, Devon. Meet at 11.30am for an 11.45am start. The walk will last for approximately 1 hour.
Stover Country Park contains over 114 acres of woodland, heathland, grassland, lake and marsh and a substantial variety of wildlife. The Nature Interpretation Centre, is situated near the entrance to the park and consists of a visitor centre, classroom, rangers' office and public toilets. Additional recreation resources include interpretation boards, aeriel walkway, a bird hide, a car park and picnic areas with a mobile van selling ice cream, teas, coffees and burgers etc. All dogs and their owners are very welcome.
Plenty of parking, but please make sure that you pay at the meter.
£1 donation per adult - all proceeds to GRWE.

A popular venue for a walk so why not come and join us. We'll be meeting at 10.30 for a prompt 11.00am start, walks are easy and take about 40 minutes. All dogs are welcome on the lead and this is a great oppurtunity for your dog to meet other hounds if they don't normally get the chance.
After join us at the cafe for a bit of a 'get together' and a raffle. It has to be said, the cafe does a really good breakfast if you would like to treat yourself first or for brunch afterwards (or maybe both ?!)

Join us in Bridport Town hopefully full of people Christmas shopping or just visiting the many market stalls (between 9.30 & 3.30). Hounds with their well-behaved owners are needed for a couple of hours or so to help fill those collecting tins. Why not come along and join us for a couple of hours; whether you are a greyhound owner already or thinking of getting one of these lovely hounds it is great to meet up for a chat and talk greyhounds.
With Christmas coming this event would be a good time to stock up on those presents or even to make your own ‘wish list’. Wyevale Garden centre is not just all about plants and gifts, in store there is a pet section for you to spoil your pets, ‘Carols Crafts’, with supplies for all your crafty projects and also a aquatics shop selling goldfish to starfish.
There is a coffee shop for you to recharge you energy with a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake. If you prefer the healthy option located next door to the garden centre is a farm shop selling local grown produce.
Come and join us for a couple of hours or a whole day we will love to have you there.

Newhall Equestrian Yard, near the Killerton Estate, Broadclyst, Devon, EX5 3LW. Well-signposted and easy to reach from junction 28 or 29 of the M5
Come and watch as your greyhound lets off steam at a new playgroup to be held in the main indoor arena at this superb horse farm between Broadclyst and Cullompton. For safety, this is restricted to greyhounds and large sighthound crosses in small groups, and other breeds only if belonging to greyhound-families. Muzzles are essential and can be bought at the event or hired for small donation. Newly-adopted dogs and dogs that do not normally get the opportunity to run free are particularly welcome. Bring your cameras and camcorders, because if you have never experienced your greyhound running free you may well be reduced to tears! Have a catch up with old friends, and enjoy the company of like minded people.
Light refreshments available, £3.00 per dog payable on the door. Greyhound merchandise including collars, coats, tassels &, muzzles will be on sale. Convenient parking.
This is really fun event for both hounds and owners, but there are some potential risks associated with multiple dogs running at high speed, so all attendees must have read, and fully understood our safety rules sheet before entry. All dogs must be booked in prior to the event and a booking form completed and returned to me by Sunday 21st November.
As well as being great fun for the dogs and a nice social evening for you owners this will be the perfect opportunity for you to buy your Christmas cards and warm winter coats and snoods for your shivering skinnies! As this is a festive playgroup there will also be plenty of mulled wine and mince pies.

What a great place Bath is at Christmas!
Such a beautiful city full of gorgeous Georgian buildings. There's the Roman Baths and the Abbey too. Great shops, many not found on your average high street, and lots of free street entertainment to keep you amused.
There are several park and rides and the train and bus stations are actually in the town centre.
Why not spend an hour or two helping out the homeless hounds by joining us for the collection and enjoy the rest of your day getting some Christmas shopping in!

Come and join us in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire for our Christmas Greyhound and Lurcher Playgroup. All owners welcome too!
This will be a chance to catch up over mince pies and mulled wine. We will be selling GRWE merchandise and holding a raffle. There will be a small charge on entry. All money taken will go directly to the work of the charity.
The dogs will get a chance to have a run in the safe environment of the indoor school. This is the 3rd year we have run this, and it really is a great fun event. Commences at 2pm. Please put it in your diary!

Dinmore Woods Dog Walk

Queenswood Arboretum is always a popular venue, so with Santa hats and tinsle at the ready why not start the festive season with a walk around these lovely woods. We'll meet at 10.30 for a prompt 11.00am start, walks are easy and take about 40 minutes.
All dogs are welcome and this is a great opportunity for your dog to meet other hounds if they don't normally get the chance.
After join us at the cafe for a 'get together' and a Christmassy themed raffle. It has to be said that the cafe does a really good breakfast if you would like to treat yourself first or for brunch after, but this time don't do both, remember Christmas is just around the corner!!
